LED VIDEO CUBE FOR YAYLA ARENA

SIMPLY.MORE.FUTURE.

Krefeld, 09 July 2021 | Press Release, Video & Photos Seidenweberhaus GmbH

The multifunctional hall in Krefeld, the YAYLA ARENA, is gearing up for the future. A state-of-the-art LED cube opens up more possibilities in the areas of sport, business and show.

The modernisation process of the YAYLA ARENA continues. "We are taking another step towards the future," says Head of Event Technology Darius Gehrmann with regard to the latest acquisition for the multifunctional arena on Westparkstraße. In 2019, a new flex-strip system was installed for the anchor tenant, the Krefeld Penguins. Finally, last year the YAYLA ARENA was equipped with a new show lighting system as well as pitch and grandstand lighting.

A state-of-the-art LED cube from LEDCON Systems sets new standards.

The dismantling of the 16-year-old cube took about 14 days. The SWH team removed more than 200m of cables, dismantled the technology and the display board and dismantled the 7.5 tonne video cube into its individual parts and transported it away.

The reasons for the expansion are obvious. The old cube dates from the opening year of the arena in 2004. "The technology has developed rapidly. There are light years between the two cubes," explains Darius Gehrmann.

IMPLEMENTED BY EXPERTS

Hall manager Inge Klaßen adds: "We are setting new standards with the change in the event industry and are ahead of our time, so to speak." In future, for example, it will be possible to display the scores of all sports on the 28-square-metre projection screens thanks to special software. The walls can be controlled and used individually. For example, conference guests can use one of the surfaces as a screen, or advertisements can be played for specific audiences (depending on the side of the grandstand). 4K signals can also be received. A competent supplier was found in the company LEDCON Systems from Rheine. "Already during the preliminary discussions, it became clear that LEDCON is a partner with whom we can optimally and professionally implement the project," continues Inge Klaßen.

DIGITAL INNOVATION & CLIMATE PROTECTION

Paul Keusch, Managing Director of Seidenweberhaus GmbH, is also satisfied: "In addition to the conversion of the show and pitch lighting to LED, we see the changeover of the time-honoured cube to ultra-modern LED walls as another milestone for the continuous renewal of the arena. Thus, we are not only taking another step towards more digital innovation, but with all these measures we have also done more justice to climate protection."
