LEDCON sets standards and pushes development course with new Tech-Hub
Despite the pandemic year 2020, LEDCON was able to successfully implement several projects in the digital signage, DooH and sports sector. In 2021, LEDCON will focus on the standardization of LED display solutions, the expansion of its tech hub and the expansion of the service department, which will also bring third-party material back on track. In addition, the export will be realigned.
Despite the pandemic year 2020, LEDCON was able to successfully implement several projects in the digital signage, DooH and sports sector. Not only the BayArena with two oversized LED screens was on the agenda, but also countless facade or mono/double foot installations such as the system in the shopping center Hürth Park in Cologne.
The digitalization of outdoor advertising installations continues to be very popular. More and more DooH operators rely on the LEDCON LED display technology. Especially with the current information policy, which is very fast-moving in times of pandemics, digital advertising systems provide a more efficient and above all more flexible way.
For 2021, the signs at LEDCON are also pointing to growth. Not only in exciting projects, but also internally.
Standardized turnkey solutions, such as mono- or double-foot LED displays with fixed sizes or façade systems will be aggressively placed on the market this year. LEDCON relies on years of experience: all necessary components for a compact and energy-efficient LED outdoor advertising system are included in the solutions. This includes not only the steel construction, substructure or electronic feed, but also the controlling of the LED display as well as a warranty of up to 5 years on the LED wall. "We know exactly what the customer wants. That all we have quasi-standardized and in the process have come up to six, different variants of an outdoor LED system. We have been able to put together efficient and attractively priced packages without having to sacrifice high-quality and sustainable components," says CTO Nils Barthel about the all-in-one systems.
In addition, the medium-sized company will push ahead with the expansion of the new tech hub at Jacksonring in Rheine. Here, the company has been working with a leading electronics OEM for over a decade and has invested in high-tech measuring and testing equipment not only to master safety-relevant challenges in terms of fire protection, but also to enable a chain of tests in the form of trend measurements in the areas of EMC, climate and temperature resistance, and even saline humidity.
This is followed by tests and measurements in accredited German measuring and testing laboratories on the way to certification.
"With this approach we guarantee our customers, in addition to the requirements for quality and safety, a sustainable and durable display in relation to the respective area of application," says CEO Udo Bloms.
Already in the past years LEDCON started to bring not only the pure LED displays to the market, but also to further expand the service after an installation. The LEDCON service team is thus also available after an installation, if necessary by remote access. Likewise, maintenance contracts, warranties or even emergency interventions in case of malfunctions are offered to the customer as an "add-on" 365 days a year.
LEDCON also addressed the topic: "Where to put my LED material when it needs to be serviced or repaired". Many users still rely on inexpensive LED components. In the end, the horror is great. But what if I don't have a contact person or even a service point where I purchased my material to turn to in case of a maintenance or service case? For this, LEDCON already developed the idea in 2019 to also repair third-party material. "We offer deep technical expertise for almost all LED display brands through our many years of experience. Our service technicians from the semiconductor industry are constantly looking forward to new challenges in their daily work," says service manager Peter Löchte. LEDCON therefore sees itself in 2021 not only as a pure LED display provider, but also as a full service provider.

Furthermore, the signs are also pointing to growth outside the German market. With the proven digital signage & LED expert Martin Orr, LEDCON strengthens the sales team and expands further beyond the DACH market. With Martin Orr, LEDCON gains an expert who brings along many years of international expertise in the LED display sector. In his new position, he will be responsible for further expanding the customer portfolio in the UK countries, Scandinavia and on a national level with the start of the new year. Udo Bloms, CEO, sees great potential in the future cooperation: "I am pleased that with Martin and his English roots we are taking another strategic step to expand our footprint beyond the key market of Germany."
New LED trailer of the company Empire Entertainment successfully put into operation
The advantages are obvious; quick set-up, low operating costs and high flexibility. The "mobile LED TV" can be set up in 30 minutes and has a wind measurement warning system. The electric, hydraulic lift mast can be extended up to a height of 8.5 meters. For the 28m² LED display, the choice of modules fell on panels of the LUXERA brand from LEDCON, which emerged as the shootout winner in terms of contrast and brightness.
TÜV tested and with a statically flawless construction book, this new gem can now be booked for outdoor events with large audiences such as concerts, sporting events, city festivals or public viewing events at Empire Entertainment.
We give wishes
LEDCON supports ASB-Wünschewagen to fulfill special wishes of seriously ill people in their last phase of life.
What would you wish for if you knew you were seriously ill and there was no prospect of a cure? To see the sea once again with your loved ones, to go to the football stadium of your favourite team, or perhaps a completely different wish that is not so easy to realise?
This is exactly where the ASB Wish Wagon comes in. The 36-year-old professional firefighter Miriam Robbe from Recke has now committed herself to fulfilling these people's last wish.
Helping weaker people from our society has been close to her heart for a long time. "That's when the idea was born to take on a personal challenge for me with a sponsored run or march and to have that rewarded with donations," Miriam explains.
Last summer she had trained for this action with several hikes and started the long planned 100 kilometre run last Saturday at 4 o'clock in the morning. She set off from Recke in Münsterland in light rain. Shortly before midnight she arrived back in Recke - completely flat, without sore feet and quite proud of her achievement. This way, many donations for the ASB Wish Wagon were collected, which Miriam would never have expected.
LEDCON is also so enthusiastic about the campaign that we donate 1000 euros for the wishes of seriously ill people. Accordingly, we are deliberately doing without gifts or sending Christmas cards this year.

LEDCON Road Side Display put into operation with optional extension
More digitization for Magdeburg! Automobile Müller is happy about a LEDCON Road Side Display. The approval framework was used to the maximum in this project, so that it was possible to build directly on a highly
frequented main road towards the city centre. The Road Side Display was built with LEDCON UPix L modules and has a pixel pitch of only 6mm. With a size of 4.80 x 2.88 meters, advertising messages are placed target-oriented and detailed in large format. The resolution is 720 x 432 pixels.
A remarkable feature of this project: The mono base of the Road Side Display is laterally offset. At the customer's request, the entire construction was planned and executed in such a way that the rear side can also be extended with a LEDCON LED display at any time. This means that the advertising space of the Road Side Display can be doubled at a later date with minimal effort. We would like to thank our customer Automobile Müller for the confidence in our team and our products.

Digital signage projects completed
Façade displays and LED tower go into operation
Three digital signage projects have been planned and installed in the last few weeks.
Bernhard Hagemann GmbH & Co. KG | My Coffee is pleased about an LEDCON facade display with a size of 3.84 x 2.24 meters and a total resolution of 576 x 336 pixels. LEDCON UPix with a pixel pitch of 6mm and an aluminium outdoor housing IP65/54 was used.
Three advertising squares successfully digitized! The LEDCON UPix LED display module with a pitch of 6mm was installed. The respective squares have a size of 2×2 meters and a resolution of 300×300 pixels. The controlling is done by NovaStar Taurus TB3 Player and a suitable brightness sensor.
The Volkmer dental laboratory in Rheine relies once again on LEDCON as a turnkey solution provider for LED displays. The previous screen was replaced by a smaller pitch of 6mm | LEDCON UPix L. The resolution is 432×144 pixels.

City of Blomberg relies on digital signage at Vattipark
The city information display in Blomberg was placed in the front part of the Vattipark and can be seen particularly well from the Bundesstraße 1 towards Blomberg.
The digital signage system is 4.80 metres wide and 2.80 metres high without a frame and thus has a display area of almost 14 square metres. The LEDCON UPix was installed with a pixel pitch of 6mm and a resolution of 720×420 pixels/total pixels of 302,400 pixels. The LED wall is especially designed for outdoor use and can withstand rain and storm as well as sunlight. The LED display usually has a lifetime of at least 10 years.

LUXERA® RS modules flown differently
At a customer event of the company Faller Stapler in Titisee-Neustadt (dealer and workshop for forklifts in Baden Württemberg) four weeks ago, the LUXERA® indoor version with a pixel pitch of 2.9 mm was used to show presentations and videos.

LEDCON Systems cancels participation at the Prolight + Sound 2020
Attractiveness of the fair due to the new date, cancellation of a number of well-known exhibitors and latest developments of the Covid-19 virus for LEDCON Systems not acceptable.
Last Friday, we decided not to take part in the Prolight + Sound 2020 trade fair, both for scheduling reasons and, in particular, due to the cancellation of our co-exhibitor NovaStar.
With regard to the latest developments of the Covid-19 virus, it is no longer possible for us to plan for the new date at the end of May. We hope that the current situation will ease up a little in the next months. However, we believe that even at the new date of the fair there will still be some uncertainties regarding the travel possibilities of visitors and our partners. We also want to protect our team and their families and not expose them to any health risks.
In addition, a large number of well-known co-exhibitors from the AV sector have also cancelled their participation in recent days, which reduces the Prolight + Sound platform for this year.
LEDCON Systems is also currently working on an alternative format to present the company's new products in a different and outstanding way.
